Who: One lavish lord
fruitbrandy and one adventuring lad
grand_gaia
What: RANDOM ENCOUNTER
Where: A riverbank or something like one
When: Daytime? Whenever.
Warnings: Isaac has a sword.
They were landed. It was a small relief, Isaac thought. He had enough on his mind that day, and he was glad to not to have to worry about Ivan getting trapped behind cargo, or Garet's stomach doing acrobatics, or Mia...
...well, for being a Mercury adept, Mia didn't take too well to sailing.
There was a town a few days walk from where they'd landed the ship. Isaac thought it was nice to actually be on a continent again, as opposed to one of the small islands that dotted the Great Eastern Sea. Garet and Ivan were unloading some supplies to actually get them to town, while Mia was farther in, taking inventory. Isaac had drawn the long straw - he was standing guard against the local wildlife.
Behind him, Garet cursed loudly as he dropped something, prompting Isaac to look behind worriedly. It was a habit he was fast getting into, but wasn't sure if it was a good habit or not - every little sound had been making him start, lately. The distraction almost cost him, for as Isaac turned back to face the wilderness, he saw no less than three wolves had appeared before him. Isaac sighed at his bad luck, unsheathing his sword in one fluid motion, having just enough time to bring it up to block a pouncing beast...

Perhaps this was how he was in a state to observe the absurdity of a young man (Oh, Sebastian realised, he had met him before! Isaac!) holding out a sword and apparently engaging in battle. Perhaps Isaac was drunk. It was, to Sebastian, a perfectly logical idea.
With that in mind, Sebastian decided to greet Isaac. From a safe distance, of course. "How do you do?"

Isaac stood then, and brandished his sword again at the two creatures still standing. It was then that he heard Sebastian's greeting, and shifted his gaze over to glance at the speaker quickly before returning his attention to the task at hand.
"I'm a bit busy!" He called back, bringing his sword up to defend against another strike.

It wasn't as if he thought he could do much help Isaac. But he recalled from his years at Eton that everyone insisted on the support of friends at sports events, as this apparently helped people win. Sebastian and Aloysius, then, would have to give Isaac their support.

Which was a very good thing, as Isaac caused the ground to split in front of him, large chunks of rock flying from the schism to pelt the remaining assailants before closing up again. The last wolf standing got the message, whimpering before turning tail. Isaac heaved a sigh as Garet clapped him on the back, then returned to the ship to continue unloading.
Only then did Isaac walk over to Sebastian, giving him a tired sort of wave.

Perhaps Isaac really was fighting something. This was, to Sebastian, a concerning thought. Though he was free of most of the weight of war, as he was too young and at school for most of it, that terror still lingered. Sebastian had no love of war.

"How odd. I suppose it makes sense, though. If Dorian can't see priests, why should I be able to see mortal danger?"

In contrast, Sebastian's alertness was lacking, and he seemed at ease and content in his surroundings.
