(no subject)

Who: One lavish lord [livejournal.com profile] fruitbrandy and one adventuring lad [livejournal.com profile] grand_gaia
What: RANDOM ENCOUNTER
Where: A riverbank or something like one
When: Daytime? Whenever.
Warnings: Isaac has a sword.

They were landed. It was a small relief, Isaac thought. He had enough on his mind that day, and he was glad to not to have to worry about Ivan getting trapped behind cargo, or Garet's stomach doing acrobatics, or Mia...

...well, for being a Mercury adept, Mia didn't take too well to sailing.

There was a town a few days walk from where they'd landed the ship. Isaac thought it was nice to actually be on a continent again, as opposed to one of the small islands that dotted the Great Eastern Sea. Garet and Ivan were unloading some supplies to actually get them to town, while Mia was farther in, taking inventory. Isaac had drawn the long straw - he was standing guard against the local wildlife.

Behind him, Garet cursed loudly as he dropped something, prompting Isaac to look behind worriedly. It was a habit he was fast getting into, but wasn't sure if it was a good habit or not - every little sound had been making him start, lately. The distraction almost cost him, for as Isaac turned back to face the wilderness, he saw no less than three wolves had appeared before him. Isaac sighed at his bad luck, unsheathing his sword in one fluid motion, having just enough time to bring it up to block a pouncing beast...

Sebastian waved back, and then lifted Aloysius's paw so that the bear could wave to. "Are you quite all right? I have no idea what you were doing but it looked very tiring."

Perhaps Isaac really was fighting something. This was, to Sebastian, a concerning thought. Though he was free of most of the weight of war, as he was too young and at school for most of it, that terror still lingered. Sebastian had no love of war.

Students floated down the lake, walked and bicycled down the path - and none of it matter to Sebastian, who had one thing for his focus now. It was bound to stray quickly enough, but it would stay centred around Isaac, and the looks of strangers meant nothing to him.

"How odd. I suppose it makes sense, though. If Dorian can't see priests, why should I be able to see mortal danger?"

"You've been travelling? For how long? I never get to travel very far on my own. I'd like to visit Japan some day, particularly after meeting so many people on the Plane. Aloysius sometimes gets sick when we're travelling, though."

In contrast, Sebastian's alertness was lacking, and he seemed at ease and content in his surroundings.
