Summary: Oliver goes on an involuntary reality-hopping tour of the multiverse~

"Samwise! Don't go under there!"
Oliver had learned a long time ago that "getting lost" and "going somewhere in the TARDIS" were basically synonymous, so he'd long since given up on getting annoyed when it happened. Instead, he usually just looked at it as another adventure to conquer--plus, you never knew what sort of cool things you might find in the meantime. And that was all well and good when he was alone, but this time he'd made the mistake of bringing one of his pets along. Watching a dwarf rabbit run off to be lost in the TARDIS was not the sort of adventure he'd had in mind for today.
He crouched down by the random large machine that was sitting by one of the walls of a room that otherwise appeared to be some sort of study. Aside from the hulking metal contraption, the room was lined with comfortable sofas and armchairs, the lighting coming from lamps on sidetables. Fancy rugs were scattered about on the polished wooden floor, although the area around the machine was bare aside from some telltale scuff marks. And while the space underneath the machine was large enough for a rabbit to fit, Oliver doubted he could even get one of his hands in there. "Come on, come out! I'll get you some nice greens?"
As he leaned down to look under the machine, he just caught sight of a furry ball shooting out and across the room. "Samwise!" He jumped to his feet, realising now that he'd been so intent on the rabbit that he hadn't even thought to close the door to the study when he came in. And, of course, he pet was making straight for it. Oliver ran after him, hoping to grab the door and shut it before Samwise could reach it and disappear into the corridor. It was going to be a close thing. He grabbed at the side of the door--
--and missed. Oliver skidded to a stop, almost falling over in his surprise. Because it was immediately apparent that he hadn't simply missed in his grab--the door wasn't there anymore. The study wasn't either, nor was the familiar hum of the TARDIS.
"What...?" Oliver breathed, looking around him in confusion. "Where am I?"

Thankfully, the men in uniform left almost immediately, leaving Oliver with the young bloke who seemed to be in charge--who was asking him questions, at that. "Uh..." With his mind racing, Oliver tried to come up with something to say that would help the situation rather than make it worse. Obviously he was on the same world as Asch's, but it couldn't be Asch's again...could it? Even if it was, he'd clearly left and gone somewhere very different from the grassy plains where Asch was. He wondered if that meant someone else from the Plane would be here. Or maybe it was Asch's world and no one was here?
Oliver's first instinct at that thought was to mention he knew Asch; it would at least give him the semblance of having a reason to be there. However, remembering that those men in white had been wearing the uniforms of the men Asch had killed, he thought better of it. Unfortunately, he didn't have any other good ideas for how to be subtle. So much for that.
"It's...uh...new for me," Oliver replied to the man's question. Honesty always came easiest to him, and if he didn't have any other good ideas, why not? "Hey, weird question, but is this Old...Auld...um...Auldren? No, that's not it. Auld-rent? Um...Auld..." He waved a hand, struggling to remember the name.

"Auldrant." He supplied helpfully. "Yeah. Not from around here?" It was sort of a trick question, and how Oliver answered would determine what Guy decided to do with him. He didn't really have the authority to arrest Oliver, but the man probably didn't know that. And Guy could always leave him with Anise--or maybe that would be cruel.

Then again... Thinking about it, Oliver realised that every time he'd gone to a world so far, he'd immediately encountered someone from the Plane. Could this man be the same?
"Have you...erm...travelled much?" Oliver asked. "You known--seen the stars, maybe?"
He hoped if this man was from the Plane, that would be enough of a hint. He didn't think he could imply much more without outright saying it--and risking everyone in the area thinking he was a nutter for sure.

"Yeah. You could say I regularly visit the stars. A good place to catch up on your reading." Anyone listening wouldn't know what the hell the two of them were saying anyway. "The name's Guy." It was still hard to introduce himself by his full name, Guy was just easier.
"Nice to meet a fellow sight-seer. What brings you to the Holy City?" Oliver sure didn't look like he'd come here on purpose, if he didn't even know where he was.

And he felt even better at Guy's answer to his question. "Yeah, definitely a good place for that," he agreed eagerly. "Oh, I'm Oliver. Nice to meet you, Guy!" He smiled cheerfully, relieved to have found someone from the Plane after all. This was going to be much easier than it had looked for a minute--or so he hoped. He didn't know Guy yet, after all, but he seemed like a nice bloke.
"The Holy City?" The question was out of Oliver's mouth before he thought about the fact that he was sounding obviously foreign again. Too late now. "Oh, well, you could say the stars did. It wasn't planned." He glanced around to make sure they were alone, knowing that evasive mentions of the Plane weren't going to allow a full conversation, and saw that the guards really did seem to have left. Taking a step toward Guy, he lowered his voice. "And it looks like I can't go back there for now. I've just been bouncing between worlds, so I'll probably disappear soon."

Because having Oliver vanish in front of a bunch of pilgrims and knights seemed like a bad idea. Empty as this place was right now, it wasn't out of the way. Guy could probably steer them somewhere a bit less exposed for Oliver to vanish, if that was a concern.
"Maybe I can ask about your journey when you're less pressed for time." However long Oliver got to stay now, Guy'd keep an eye out for him in the Plane to ask about this unexpected encounter. It wasn't every day strangers from other worlds popped in on him.

Oliver laughed at Guy's comment. "Yeah, I don't know how many places I'm gonna end up at." He supposed that should have been an unsettling fact, but he was enjoying seeing everyone's worlds too much to be particularly bothered. He could worry about that when it started lasting for an extended period of time, which, if it was like most of the Plane's antics, it wouldn't. He'd decided when it started that it was a lot more fun to take the carpe diem approach, and he had no intention of changing that philosophy any time soon.
