The Doctor collapsed on soft grass when he dropped into his gardens from the Plane. He gave himself a moment, before carefully peeling off his burned jumper. The blast he'd received from the Master had left its mark rather impressively on his chest, and his hands still smarted too.

"Fantastic," he muttered, lying back down on the grass and simply closing his eyes, unaware of how it would seem to anyone walking by. He would heal soon, of course. Hiding his pain in the meantime would be a bit difficult, but not impossible. After all, it wasn't the first time he'd been intensely electrocuted. Damn Slitheen. There was the option of the nanogenes stored in his console room, too, but...there was some part of of him that wanted this to last. He was honestly rather pleased by the fact that this new Master had no qualms at all about trying to kill him.

It had been some time since he last thought about the Plane--and even longer since he last had a moment to go sit in the residential gardens. Now that his duties were done for the day--and thank goodness they were; the menial tasks were beginning to make him think he'd lose braincells before the day was out--he decided to head down there. It was deserted, or so it seemed when he first neared it, but the gardens looked different from how he remembered them. Had he really been that busy? His brow creased as he frowned. Something wasn't right, and the moment he stepped into the gardens, he realised what had happened.

"What is--no..." That absent feeling was there, and it was a bit of a shock to feel it again after a few months away. Despite himself, he felt anger welling up inside in chest. He'd been so careful to keep anything relatedto the Plane hidden and away from the other Time Lords, and here this was in the middle of the residential gardens! "Doctor! Is this your doing?" As soon as he said those words, he remembered that time in the bar when the Doctor brought a cadenwood tree with him. And later on when he crossed into the TARDIS garden with him to put him to rest. It made sense now.

Just as he was wondering if the Doctor was still in the gardens--time had a different way of operating on the Plane, after all--he spotted the man's legs and made a beeline for them, his robes catching on leaves and branches as he passed. "Really Doctor, you really have--" he began, but what ever sarcastic jibs he was about to let loose completely faded along with any colour in his face.

He ran over to the Doctor, dropping to his knees beside him. "What the hell happened to you?" he asked, but he did not touch the Doctor just yet.
