"Aye, of course he would. He'd not want to get ye in trouble," Jamie says, unconsciously echoing Damon's thoughts. He's looking rather thoughtful, however, and for a moment it seems like he's about to ask a question.

He hesitates. Should he ask what he wants to? Or should he talk about it with the Doctor, first? If the Doctor's not interested, then no harm done. But...if Damon's answer is no, then there's nothing to even talk about with the Doctor. So what should Jamie do?

In the end, what decides him is simple. Damon is here. The Doctor is not. So, he decides to just go ahead and ask anyway and figure things out from there.
