Characters: DI Menzies (
grip_on_reality), Agent K (
most_feared), and Christopher Chareau de Red (
inhumanity)
Location: In the kitchen
Time: After Menzies leaves Christopher this message
Summary: Menzies and Agent K try to talk some sense into Christopher after York's murder.
Warnings: None.
[Menzies and Kay are sitting at the table in the kitchen, waiting for Christopher to arrive. she has set out a plate of cinnamon rolls in the center of the table, remembering Christopher's excitement over baked goods and hoping it will act as a sort of peace offering--not that she plans to let him off easy in the least. but she figures if they have any hope of making progress through words, they have to show some good will to start--and she sincerely hopes they can make progress through words]
[as she waits, she's working idly on paperwork and munching on a basket of chips. Kay, meanwhile, seems engrossed in A Tale of Two Cities. she's wondering how long it might take for him to arrive. thank goodness time is irrelevant on the Plane--outside of the boredom of waiting, of course. she drums her free hand on the table as she writes, her only outward gesture of tension. she's ready to get this over with]

[Lazily, he gets to his feet; lazily, he stretches his arms out above his head.] Is that all?

I'll be in touch.

[and she leaves it at that, just watching to see that Christopher leaves]

Yeah, he's a big ol' bag of dicks.
[Matter of factly.]

[she sighs] Handcuffs it is, then. But we're gonna need a plan to get 'em on him before he's able to do anything about it--not to mention working out exactly what we're gonna ask him for before he gets 'em off. [because she doesn't feel any wiser about his motives now than she did before that conversation, which is unfortunate. still, she's hopeful that they can use the threat of the handcuffs as a deterrent]
[she tilts her head a bit, thinking about how they should do this] 'ave you got any speed technology on your end?

[she frowns at the second question, though, wondering where he's going with that idea] Ah, he doesn't 'ave any resistance that I know of. I managed to...read a bit about him. During that pollen mess. [her expression is sour at the mention of that experience] But as far as any round 'ere, not that I know of, unfortunately.
[that said, she waits for more of an explanation--assuming she's going to get one, of course. Kay seems to specialise in leaving out information sometimes]

We'll see what we can do from there. [Because if she doesn't pass the "entrance exam", she'll be nueralyzed and forget he brought her there.]
You up for a quick jaunt in my neck of the woods again?

[she nods] Sure. I take it there's better test prep on that end. [her amusement and interest is clear]
