❝This is grown-up time now.❞
Characters: Jade (
fonicartestry), Tear (
youidiots)
Location: The Astral Bar! Because Tear is only literally under the drinking age.
Time: After this.
Summary: Jade is from the future! Tear is from the past! Neither of them are from Tales of Phantasia! What will they do?
Jade didn't need to go back to Grand Chokmah to confer with anyone before he spoke to Tear - he had no intentions of telling anyone - but he still went back, if only to assure himself that the brochures had been telling the truth. He was away from the shopping district and past the palace in a moment (the thought of talking to His Majesty about this was laughable when Jade could predict the conversation right to its end), and then he returned to the familiarity of his office.
If he wanted, he could easily speak to Saphir. But he had a suspicion about how that conversation would go as well. The only people who truly deserved to be consulted on this matter were dead.
Jade's current work was organized into three areas: research into fonon production and consumption, military tasks, and fomicry research. The last files were the most relevant to him now. Peony had once asked Jade how many times he would have to kill the Professor before he was satisfied. Jade now had to make some quick calculations about how many times he had to say to Luke, 'Please die,' before it would be enough.
Jade made a final note on the papers he had been looking through this morning (it was about Florian's current health compared to Ion's - that is, the Ion Jade had known - prior to his death) before returning to the Plane and settling in at the bar. Tear and Luke's approach of Engeve forced his hand - anything but the truth would become unsustainable the moment they encountered his past self.
Now if only he could get Guy here to explain everything.
