Summary: North meets with Menzies to talk to her about his upcoming surgery to get his AI. There will be questions.

[It's not the first time North has searched the Plane for Patricia, but this time... Things back home have finally reached a point where something is going to happen to him. In the back of his mind, it always seemed like a goal that's always been on the horizon, not something that is going to happen the next day. But it is. And part of him is excited. He's high enough on the list that he's honored to be one of the first to get them.
His sister, on the other hand...
It's not enough that his Plane sister thinks of him the way she does, but his own actual sister is keeping him at arm's length lately too. He gets it; she's pissed that she was passed over. She doesn't have a proposed surgery date either. She's busted her ass to stay at the rank she's been and this is how she's rewarded... He really hopes she's up next. He, more than anyone, knows that she deserves it. His other sister does, too.
Thinking about her helps temper his worries about the surgery, but he still needs to find the other woman in his life and let her know this is going to happen. And knowing her, he's going to be in for a lot of questions.
This time when he finds her in the library, he doesn't have coffee with him or anything. He's in his civvies; he should be going to bed soon, but now that he's here, he doesn't have to worry about that. He's just glad to see her.]
Had a feeling you'd be here. [He smiles easily at her as he approaches, then plants a kiss on top of her head once he's close. But while his tone is just as warm as usual, there's a look in his eye that says there's something on his mind and this won't be a normal social visit.]
